Looking to move home?

The majority of mortgages offered today are portable which means you can port them from one home to another. 
This means you may not have to pay any early repayment charges (ERC's) as you won't be redeeming the mortgage, just transferring it.


However porting isn't always this simple, for example what if you wanted to up-size and needed to borrow more?  Or downsize and require less of a loan?  Also, your mortgage lender will still assess the ported mortgage the same as a new mortgage. This is why its important to speak with a mortgage broker.

The most frequent request we get is for up sizing, this means you want to move from your current home to a bigger one.

You could pay off your current mortgage and take out a new one.  This is a only a good idea if you are out of your mortgage term or don't have an early repayment charge.


You could port your existing mortgage and make up the difference with a further advance from your current lender or a second charge loan.
